Greetings! The computer network is similar to the human nervous system in many ways. Think of a computer hard drive and all the wires that connect all components of the system The wires are analogous to the neurons that transmit signals throughout out body.
When we click on the mouse or type on the keyboard, this can be considered a sensory stimulus. The signal will run to the hard drive (or the human brain), where it is processed. Then the signal will cause an effect to the system which in terms of the computer would output the action on the display screen.
While the computer updates, installing new drivers and submitting diagnostic reports to the database, this can be analogous to our hippocampus which serves to consolidate memories which can affect our critical thinking with future experiences.
When performing a search on Google the results will be a range of related items based on the words in the search. Our brains have a spreading activation which when presented with a stimulus like someone telling us they want a taco, our brains do their own Google search thinking of our past experiences with tacos, different types of tacos we have eaten and/or seen on social media, places that sell tacos, etc.
