Hi, Tshering! This is a good question and a good analogy!
The sensors of a car will monitor levels of a certain substance, and when it becomes low they alert the owner of the car that something is missing whether that be fuel, windshield wiper fluid, or whatever else!
In humans, we have receptors in our body that will sense either the presence or absence of things and respond accordingly. Some receptors will turn processes faster, and some will turn processes slower. For example, there is something called a negative feedback loop. When estrogen is produced, it enacts various changes in the reproductive system and "turns on" many functions. However, when there is too much estrogen, it will go to the part of our brain that controls the production of estrogen and tell it "hey, there's too much down here! slow it down!"
In conclusion, the human body is more complex than a car because it can both sense when there is too little or too much of a substance and act to correct the situation to equilibrium. In contrast, the car can only tell you if there is too little or too much of something, then you have to fix the situation! In the end, both systems come into equilibrium.
Hope this helped!
