The process by which water and food are transported in plants is known as translocation. When a plant takes water and nutrients from the soil and transports them to the leaves and other parts of the plant, this is known as translocation. The xylem and phloem tubes are used by the plant to accomplish this. The xylem is responsible for transporting water and minerals from the roots to the leaves, while the phloem is responsible for transporting food from the leaves to the rest of the plant.
