Each of the 212 pages in the largest fashion catalog measured 2.1 m by 2.2 m. What was the perimeter of a page? What was the area?

To find the perimeter, add up all the sides of the shape. In our problem, the object is a page of the magazine

and we are given the long side of the page and the short side of the page. Magazine pages will be rectangles, so we know the opposite side will be the same as the side that they gave us.

perimeter = 2.1 + 2.1 + 2.2 + 2.2 = 8.6m

For area of a rectangle, multiply the long and short sides, so we can solve by doing the following.

area = 2.1 x 2.2 = 4.62m
