All phototrophs are autotrophs, but not all autotrophs are phototrophs. Another way to think of phototrophs is as a subcategory of autotrophs. Autotrophs are organisms that can make their own food, but phototrophs are a subcategory that specifically use light. A different type of autotroph are chemotrophs or organisms that use chemical reaction to produce food.
Examples:
phototrophs - green plants
chemotrophs - microorganisms on deep sea vents
autotrophs - both plants and deep sea vent microorganisms
