Yes, the peppered moth population did undergo natural selection during the industrial revolution in England.
The peppered moth population underwent natural selection do to the ash and pollution that resulted from the burning of natural resources. This coated the tree trunks and made the trees darker in color. This change made it easier for predators to find the light colored moths causing a decline in their population. This same change made it harder for predators to find the darker colored moths leading to an increase in their population.
While this is not necessary a "problem" that needs to be fixed, we could help rebalance the population by cleaning the ash off the trees or switching to cleaner burning resources.
