Simply rearrange the first equation from 3x - y = 5 to read y = 3x - 5
Then you would substitutive for y in the 2nd equation getting
2x + 3(3x - 5) = 18
Then you would solve that for x
Finally you would get y by putting the x value you just found into y = 3x - 5
