The genotype of the parent squirrels should be Ff. According to the phenotypes of the offspring, we can see that the gray phenotype of the parents is actually due to having two different copies of the allele F and f. Completing a punnett square with two gray parents, Ff x Ff would yield FF, Ff, Ff, and ff resulting in the given percentages (25% brown, 50% gray, and 25% white).
