There are different types of fat that could have lead to this misconception. Saturated fats are found in long hydrocarbon chains that have single bonds between each carbon and are linear in nature. These fats are naturally occurring and are found in a lot of natural products that we consume. However, highly processed foods contain a form of artificially saturated fats called trans fat. Trans fat is an unsaturated fat, which has at least one double bond between the carbons, that has been hydrogenated artificially to break the double bond and add another hydrogen atom. Because these fats are highly processed and not natural, the body has more difficulty digesting them, which can lead to obesity and cardiovascular disorders. Does this make sense? I think that is what this question is getting at.
