There seems to be confusion about the way the equation is written, but it is clear from the context that this is a linear function. I've addressed that briefly in the video.

Parallel lines have the same slope thus the new line will have the form of y=1/5x+b and that new line must pass through (-5,2) thus -5=2/5+b yielding b = -27/5. The new line will be y=1/5x-27/5

The point (-5,2) is not on the line y=1/5x-27/5 because the values of x and y are interchanged.01/21/22
