To get the electron configuration of Na+, we can first start with that for Na (ground state).
Na has 11 electrons: 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s1
Na+ has lost the outermost (3s1) electron in order to gain a + charge: 1s2 2s2 2p6
Noble gas notation: [Ne]
Orbital notation: ↑↓ ↑↓ ↑↓ ↑↓ ↑↓
...........................1s...2s......2p.............
E-dot: difficult to draw on this platform but you'd have [ Na ]+ and put four lone pairs around the Na, i.e. put 2 dots on top, 2 on the bottom, 2 to the right and 2 to the left.
