asked 11/02/21Drew and Danielle are sightseeing for the day. Between the two of them they take 95 pictures. Of drew takes 17 more than twice as many pictures as danielle, how many pictures does each friend take?

Here is a way to solve a problem like this. In this case, x=Drew and y=Danielle
Use the information you have to set up two equations.
x+y=95
x=2y+17
Now you have what is called a system of equations to solve. What I find easiest for solving these is to look for an equation that you can easily plug into the other equation. For example, if you have n=x+5 and x=n+10, you could substitute the x+5 for n. You could go from there to solve for each variable.
