Blocking quorum sensing

Question

pathogenicity in cholera is linked to quorum sensing. Would it be possible to reduce/inhibit the severity of illness caused by it by finding a way of blocking quorum blocking?

Is this a good idea conceptually? 

If the concept is sound, could it be applied in reality? What could potential barriers to implementation be?

Are there any potential negative consequences of inhibiting quorum sensing (or would there be any difficulties in attempting to inhibit quorum sensing)?

Since this is a homework type quite broad question, you should perhaps consider actually searching the web. In particular, you can become acquainted with relevant terminology (substances, processes, organism physiology, etc.) by scanning a review article, such as under "quorum sensing issues".

Then when you have some terminology, you may scan specific papers to extract ideas for your answer.
