Determine the value of x, y and z if
- 4x-3y= 2-8z
- y is twice as large as x
- z is one sixth of y
The answer is x = 3, y = 6 and z = 1 but how do I get that answer?

-y = 2x
-z = 6y
-4x - 3y = 2 - 8z
-2(2x) - 3y = 2 + 8(6y)
-2(-y) - 3y = 2 + 48y
Can you solve for y, then x and z and answer?

Would "- z is one sixth of y" mean -z = (1/6)y?
