Hello Zhana, what an interesting question, and hypothesis. To help you determine the answer, I have a question for you. Why do you suspect marsupials have a lower maternal mortality rate than other mammals?

I think the mortality rate (for the mothers at least) might be lower because the process of birth seems like it would be a lot less physically traumatic/dangerous when the offspring is so small.09/09/21
