Making two assumptions:
1) The original equation is (1/6)n, i.e. the n is intended to be in the numerator.
2) the notation m(-1/2) is intended to be function notation, i.e. m of -1/2 means to replace n with (-1/2) in the function definition.
Using those assumptions:
m(-1/2) = (1/6) (-1/2) = -1/12
If the n really is in the denominator of the function definition, then:
m(-1/2) = 1/(6(-1/2)) = 1/-3 = - 1/3
