I need help with 2 calc-related-questions.

Question

1. Determine the value of k such that u and v are orthogonal. u = [2, k, -1] and v = [3, -2, 7]
2. Determine the value(s) of k such that (2k, 3, k+1) x (k-1, k, 1 = (1, -2, 2)

The x stands as a tip to do cross-product.

(Even though they use the same variables they're two entirely different questions)

1.uv = 6 - 2k - 7 = 0; k = - 1/2.

2.2k - 6 + 2k + 2 = 0 and k - 1 - 2k + 2 = 0

4k - 4 = 0 k = 1 and k = 1

So, k = 1
