These are just some interesting ways to remember significant cellular organelles and their function in a cell.
cellular membrane- surrounds intercellular contents and cytoplasm along with organelles, usually semipermiable lipid-bilayer, especially in animal cells
cytoplasm- the liquid, gell-like substance that the organelles are suspensed in, think of it like like a "pool and all the other organelles in it are like different floaties"
smooth endoplasmic reticulum- this is where many of the steroids and fats are manufactured and packaged amd prepared to be sent out of cell
*to compare and cotrast smooth versus rough: think of smooth being anologus to fats and cushiony while rough being strong,structure...protein builds muscles and muscles make you strong
rough endoplasmic reticulum- this is where many proteins get packaged and prepared as well prepped to leave cell
nucleus- think information processing center of where DNA is housed and gets ready to be duplicated with the first step called transcription
mitrochondia- bean-looking like structures that are responsible for ATP production and powerhouse, energy of cell
microtubles- think of these as instruments used for when the cell is going through division and needs help with alignment...they usually only appear during that time anyway
lysosomes- think of processes like cleansing and clearing garbage wastes in the cell
ribosomes- think of protein synthesis
cell wall- usually only found in plant cells, hard encasing that surrounds plant cell
chlorophyll- important pigment structure that is green and helps plants draw energy through sun light from the sun
I think these are the main ones. If there are any other ones you want to discuss, let me know.
