1) The test to determine if functions are inverses of each other is f(g(x)) = g(f(x)) = x
Only one of the functions passes that test.
2) To find the inverse of y =4+x2, swap x and y and solve for y.
If you plot the inverse function, apply the vertical line test. If there is more than one y-value for x, then
it is not a function. To determine the domain, watch out for negative values under the square root and exclude those values.
