1) p = 1 / 4a
2) y = k ± (x - h)

p is the length of the semi-latus rectum, the vertical distance through the focus to either side of the parabola.
in x-h (1/4f)(y-k)^2 standard form, the latus rectum = 4f and p=2f
in the given equation 4f=20, 2f=10 = p
none of the answers are correct. IF you had to choose a "best" answer, it would be D) 5
It's closest to 10.
the parabola is leftward opening, vertex (8,-2) focus (3,-2) directrix x=13, latus rectum = the distance from (3,8) to (3,-12) = 20. p= 20/2 = 10. (3,8) and (3,-12) are points on the parabola directly above and below the focus.
D) is the answer for the hyperbola asymptotes
general equation is (x-h)^2/a^2 - (y-k)^2/b^2 = 1
for (x+2)^2/121 - (y-5)^2/81 = 1 h=-2, k=5, a=11, b=9
formula for asymptotes for a hyperbola parallel to the x axis
is
y-k= + or - (b/a)(x-h) + k. plug in the values and you get the answer in D)

I am sorry you are stressed but you seem to be posting a lot of similar questions under different names. Are you trying to learn from what the tutors have helped you with? If so, you shouldn't need any help with either of these questions because tutors have already answered similar questions for you. Just apply the same methods. Posting almost identical questions over and over makes me think you just want us to do your work for you.06/08/21
