asked 05/24/21Anthony spotted a dollar under his coffee table. Anthony's line of sight formed a 30 degree angle of depression with the underside of the table. The table is 20 inches tall. Anthony wishes to retrieve the dollar along the floor. What trigonometric relationship would be used to determine x, the distance Anthony would have to reach? Write an equation to determine x, the distance from the edge of the table to the dollar. How far in from the side of the table is the dollar? Anthony reasons that if the side opposite the 30 degree angle is 20 then the dollar must be 40 inches from the base of the table leg. Anthony's sister disagrees. Do you agree with Anthony?
