Let's go through each of the options:
- a common chemical reaction with important implications for organisms (including humans) is that carbon dioxide reacts with water to form carbonic acid. Therefore rain and precipitation will remove carbon from the atmosphere. Side note: did you know that all rain is acidic? What we call "acid rain" results from sulfur in the atmosphere (likely a result of fossil fuel combustion) reacting with rain water to form sulfiric acid.
- this answer doesn't make much sense as drier conditions inhibit decomposition so you can eliminate this one.
- what is primary production in terrestrial ecosystems? Plant growth. Do plants like water and need it to grow?
- Also doesn't make sense. Why would increased rain fall cause there to be less water in bodies of water?
