A kitchen which is 6 m by 5 m is to be renovated with tiles that are 18 ft2. Determine how many tiles are needed to renovate the kitchen and how much it would cost if each tile cost $9 per tile. Show all your work.

Hello, Luhan,
I noted in the comments section that 19ft2 per tile seems high. However, I'll do the calculation using that figure.
The dimensions of the kitchen are in metric (meters) while the tile area is given in English (ft2). We'll need to convert one to the other to have consistent units. I'll choose metric.
We know that 1 meter = 3.28084 feet
Therefore 1 m2 = 10.765 ft2
Use this as a conversion factor: (1m2/10.765 ft2)
One tile, at 19ft2/tile equals (19 ft2/tile)*(1m2/10.765 ft2) = 1.765m2/tile
The total kitchen area is 6m x 5m = 30m2
Divide the total area by the 'per tile' area: 30m2/1.765m2/tile = 17 tiles (slighlty rounded up to the nearest whole tile.
At $9/tile we can calculate a total cost of the tiles (no labor) by multipying the tiles by the price per tile:
($9/tile)*(17 tiles) = $153
