Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
a) A and B could happen together. They aren't mutually exclusive. Saturday is on a weekend
b) If you get an A, you pass. They can happen together. Not mutually exclusive
c) Calm and storm are mutually exclusive, for most people. You could be in the eye of a hurricane. It's calm, but it's very stormy weather in some sense.
d) sunny and rainy usually are mutually exclusive, but you have rainbows, you have rain with the sun shining. Sort of like Linus in the Peanuts comic strip, or one of those characters walking around with a rain cloud over his head but sunny at the same time.
e) not mutually exclusive some honor students may have brown eyes.
