My suggestion would be that you choose a topic that is interesting to you. Once you have chosen one, brainstorm different ideas you have about your topic. You can do so with a mind map. Ask yourself "What do I know about this topic?", and translate your thoughts to your mind map. As you complete it, you will notice what you do not know about your topic, which will indicate what you need to research.
