B= 9+ T
B=G-7 = 9+T
G =T+16 where B= time for 1st bear along, G= time for 2nd bear alone and T = time when they eat together.
1/B + 1/G = 1/T
1(9+T) + 1/(T+16) = 1/T multiply by T(T+9)(T+16)
T(T+16) + T(T+9) = (T+9)(T+16)
T^2 +16T + T^2 + 9T = T^2 + 25T + 144
T^2 = 144
T = 12 days together
1st bear took 21 days alone
2nd bear took 28 days alone
1/21 + 1/28 = 1/12
multiply by 84
4 + 3 + 84/12 = 7
