$25/hour for first 7 hours
$10/ hour for next 10 hours
$5/ hour for any additional hours
$25(7) + $10 (10) + $5 (X)= total cost for 30 hours
So far we have the formula set up, but it only shows how much it could potentially cost for someone to rent the boat for 17 hours. We need 13 more hours to equate to 30 hours. Therefore, we will plug in 13 hours in the parentheses "X". After doing that, we will multiply 25 by 7 which is 175, 10 by 10 which is 100, and 5 by 13 which is 65. After this step, we will add 175+100+65= $340
$175 + $100 + $65= $340. The answer is $340 for renting a boat for 30 hours.
