asked 03/15/21Math Question 1
I opened a grocery account at my bank for $100, Every week thereafter, I withdraw $95 from the account for groceries. Okay, so
If x is the number of weeks I've had the account, then y is the amount I withdraw from the account.
Find an equation of a line in the for y = mx + b that describes my grocery account balance.⠀⠀⠀⠀

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
95= mx + 100
mx = 95-100 =- 5
y=-5x +100 where y = the total withdrawn, mx = balance remaining after withdrawals, x= number of weeks withdrawals are made 00=b = original balance
5x = 100-y or -y+100
5x = -y + b
x = (-1/5)y + 100/5
x = (-1/5)y + 20 where slope = 1/5 and intercept = 20
but
it may make more sense to switch x and y to get
y= -x + b where b= original balance, -1=m and x= the number of weeks of withdrawals, with y = remaining balance
if you want the standard y=mx+b slope intercept form
5= -95(1) +100
