In order to link these pathologies together, you have to look up the kinetic chain. This refers to more proximal structures having an impact on the mechanics of more distal structures. For example, individuals with plantar fasciitis may show symptoms up the kinetic chain and present with posterior chain tightness. Or individuals with posterior chain tightness can complain of symptoms of plantar fasciitis.
