Question

Two angles of a triangle have the same measure and the third one is 45 degrees greater than the measure of each of the other two. Find the measure of the LARGEST angle in the triangle.

A+B+C = 180

A=B

2A + C = 180

C=45+A

2A + 45 + A = 180

3A = 180-45 = 135

A = 135/3 = 45 degrees = each of two angles

3rd angle C = 90 degrees

angles are 45, 45 and 90 or pi/4, pi/4 and pi/2 radians

It's a right triangle. As soon as you saw the 45 in the problem, you might suspect it's a right triangle, with 45, 45 and 90 degrees.
