$50-$2.50=$47.50 (cost less discounted amount)

 

Store B

20% discount on $60

20/100*60=$12

60-12=$48

 

Though you got a bigger percentage discount in store B, because the price was already inflated(more expensive), it is cheaper and thus wiser to buy from store A.
