To second Julia's response, learning a language will become easier the more you immerse yourself in it and the culture that it's surrounded by, to an extent. Music, film, books, conversation, travel... these are all amazing steps we can take to better understand the language we're learning. Accents are tough to chip away at, but no worries, people will always appreciate you making the effort to learn their language and notice the effort you're making when trying to communicate in a way that is not natural to you. This is especially true when visiting a foreign country. No matter what you do, always try and go past the Duolingo exercises and flashcards and look to take in the language in as many forms as possible.
