Vickie and Shirley are unlikely friends as the ratio of their ages is 1:5. In fact, in 6 years, their ages will be in the ratio 3:11. What is the difference between their present ages?

5x = Shirley age now

x+6 = Vickie age in 6 years

5x + 6 = Shirley age in 6 years

x+6 = 3
