Jim currently has 1250 in his bank account and sally has 1400 in her bank account. Jim deposits 27.50 per week into his bank account and sally deposits 20 per week into her bank account. After how many weeks will they have the same amount of money?

LET W BE THE WEEK. AFTER W WEEK THEY HAVE SAME AMOUNT

1250+27.50W=1400+20W

27.50W-20W =1400-1250

7.5W=150

W=150/7.5

W=20

THEREFORE , AFTER 20 WEEKS THEY WILL HAVE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY

Let w = the number of weeks.

Jim = 1250 + 27.5 (w)

Sally = 1400 + 20 (w)

So we set them equal and solve for w.

1250 + 27.5w = 1400 + 20w

7.5w = 150

w = 20

So, after 20 weeks Jim and Sally will have the same amount of money.
