To find the inverse of an equation, you swap variables and solve again for y. In your problem the variables were already swapped, so simply solve for y. You need to move everything to the left side and get y by itself.

First, subtract 6 from both sides.
Second, multiply both sides by 5. On the left side, distribute the 5. i.e. 5•(x-6) = (5)•(x) - (5)•(6)
Once y is by itself you have the inverse. If you multiply the two equations together, you will end up with 1.
