Where do you get 3000s from? An electric clothes dryer is rated at 5,500 W. How much energy does it use in 20 min?

The original question referred to 50 min = 3000s because each minute has 60 seconds, and 50x60 = 3000. If the power is 5,500W and time 20 min, then the energy is 5,500x(20x60) = 6,600,000 J

If you want to convert from Joules to kWh then use the identity 1kWh = 3,600,000 J For example, 8,700,000 J = 8,700,000/3,600,000 kWh = 2.4 kWh
