The scientific side of this is only data. The use made of that data is the intervention and that is a purely political decision. Biden says "Covid is over" and the science folks now are saying, Hey that is not your decision !
Because we constantly override local and state authorities in the US, we have more and more social problems
I don't think it is society's business to say that all improvement of health , for example, is justified just because it can be done. We have limited resources in every way. What is good can only be good when all of society's money and rights and issues are on the table.
