Hello! College student looking to earn some extra cash.
Hello Natter B.
This is an opinion question, so first, you have to find out exactly what Hammurabi's code of laws is.
Hammurabi was the sixth ruler in the Babylonian dynasty of Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia was an ancient civilization, located in the area we know today as the area of Iraq. As one of the earliest known civilizations, the Mesopotamian civilization is well known for its written scripts, which tell the history of the civilization in 1500-1800s BCE.
Hammurabi code of laws: A black stone tablet with a set of 292 rules or laws. It is considered to be the first legal code. Some of the punishments were harsh, but it was also the first time the legal principle where the idea of "innocent until proven guilty" was established.
I recommend looking up examples of the different codes, and what their punishments are because you might not think they are justifiable in our modern-day society. Or there may be some codes and punishments that you think should be implemented or brought back. All you need is a little research to help you come up with a good argument, so you could answer the question with relevant and factual information.
