A gas tank in a car has a capacity of  liters. On a full tank of gas, the car travels  miles. What is the mileage in miles per liter?

Quite often if you read miles per gallon or mile per liter or miles per tank. Something per something is often a division problem. You are trying to divide the first value by the second value to find out how items of the second value fit into the fist value.

340 miles / 90 liters = 3.77 miles per liter ..... check by multiplying 3.77 X 90 = 340
