- What happens in the mouth (Focus on enzymes)?
In the mouth, after the food is chewed, enzymes such as carbohydrase, break down carbohydrates (in bread and other foods.)
- What happens in the stomach (focus on enzymes)?
In the stomach both chemical (such as the carbohydrates enzyme in the mouth) and mechanical, degredation occur. Different foods are broken down with acid to dissolve what you eat.
