Alright, so first thing you need to do on this problem is come up with a variable for what your solving for (cost of a box of popcorn):
b- cost of a box of popcorn
so the things you know are you have 3 boxes of popcorn (3b), one bottle of water (+1.75) and the total cost (=9.25), so your equation would be:
3b + 1.75 = 9.25
Then from there you will just solve the equation and that will give you the cost of a box of popcorn. Hope this helped!
