find the slope first by getting y alone
2 y = -x + 11
y = (-1/2)x + 11/2
parallel slope is the same, perpendicular slope is -1/m
m = -1/2, perpendicular slope is +2/1 = 2
point-slope method y - y1 = m(x - x1)
point (x1, y1) is (-1,4) , m = 2
equation then is y - 4 = 2(x - -1) y - 4 = 2x + 2 (point-slope form)
get y alone for slope intercept form y = 2x + 6
x and y same side for standard form : 2x - y = -6
