There is a chemical reaction that describes this in some bacteria that oxidize hydrogen sulfide to produce sulfate, SO42-. The reaction looks like this...
CO2 + H2S + O2 + H2O ==> CH2O + SO42- + 2H+

Nice, thanks. Mr. S :) I have a paper compenium that states that sulfur bacteria transforms hydrogen sulfide to hydrogen sulfate, but am I correct in presuming it is wrong information?09/04/20
