so second piece will be 2A as from the above condition,

so third piece will be 5A + 2 as its said 5 times of the first piece ( 5A ) and 2 inch more ( 5A+ 2)

A + 2A + 5A+ 2 = 26

subtracting 2 from both sides,

A + 2A + 5A + 2 - 2 = 26 - 2 = 24

A + 2A + 5 A = 24

8A = 24

dividing both sides by 8 we get,

A = 24/ 8 = 3

First piece is 3 inch

2nd piece is 3* 2 = 6 inch ( twice is first piece )
