imagine you are a geneticist studying a cell sample of a patient who you suspect has an issue with cell division. You notice that some cells have undergone apoptosis and other cells have additional chromosomes.

There are probably large numbers of genetically based disorders that could so result, but I'm betting it's epigenetic, maybe the patient grows flame lilies and has absorbed ridiculous amounts of colchicine, which prevents proper chromosome segregation during mitosis? Or a similar material. Take a patient (and family) history. Sounds like a lethal mutation, if not a chemical.

I'd be curious to know what range of answers your class came up with!
