Simplifications can be tough, but just try to remember that there are many different ways of writing the exact same thing!
In your case, based on what you have written it looks as if you mean
√(100x2)
So lets start with once part at a time, if we break down 100x2, how else can we write this? We can rewrite our original equation as such:
√(100) * √(x2)
What we did here is basically "distribute" the square root to all of the terms in the equation. The first "term" was 100 and the second "term" was x2. Remember though, this distribution can only be done if the "terms" are being multiplied or divided. It does NOT work if addition or subtraction are at play.
Now can we solve this?
√(100) = 10
√(x2) = x
We take our broken apart equation
√(100) * √(x2)
and substitute....
10*x = 10x
