When simplifying roots, thing of the factors of the number you are simplifying.In this case that is 44. 44 is equal to 4*11. 11 cannot be simplified any more and 4 is a perfect square. I take the square root of 4, which is 2, and then multiply it by the square root of 11, which we keep as-is because it cannot be simplified anymore.
