Genetic drift is the term for random changes in the allele frequency of a population. Gene flow is the passage of alleles between generations and between populations. If the individuals who carry the allele for dimples randomly either don't mate, or don't pass on that allele when they mate (if they are heterozygotes and happen to give the other allele they have instead), then the allele for dimples would disappear from the population.
