Very little and when needed it should go through the State government and not go directly to the local district.
The Federal Government in my lifetime has very often avoided the big national issues by trying to stir up local problems. We are facing war on two fronts now in the world: China and the Russia-Ukrain war so why should the Feds be in my state forcing a small town near me to install unisex bathrooms
If it is the voters of cities, counties, and states that ultimately elect those federal officeholders so why are they considered too stupid to solve their own local problems, which they know far better anyway than some DC bureaucrat??
