So, the main reason that we see all of this cheating is the pressure put on students. That need to excel above everyone else (which I am sure that you have felt). This is an example of conflict theory, where there are constantly limited resources (grade satisfaction, college spots, jobs, etc....). A basic premise of conflict theory is that individuals and groups within society will work to maximize their own benefits.This is what someone does when cheating, they maximize their chances of "success" over competitors despite possible consequences.
